how to convert a lotus.123 file to excel

Ibm Lotus 1-2-3 v.9.8 millennium edition

Specs: Macintosh Snow Leopard 10.6.7, 2.4 GHz Intel Core duo
I have a number of Lotus123 files with the .123 extension. How to read, open or convert these files to the latest versions of Excel for Mac (or Excel for Windows). I tried Symphony for Mac (free from IBM) that used to do this job but not on the latest OSX version (10.6.7).

Anyone experience with OpenOffice?

Per this site, OOo3 can open .123 files. Afer that, you should e able to save them in whatever format you wnat for future use.

100% compatible? I doubt it, but at least you shoud be able to get them open.

It's free, so I'd certainly give it a try.
