One simple method (although without more detail I'm not sure if this will work for you) might be to use the following formula as a rule for Conditional Formatting to fill cells that match (or don't match) with a specific color.
=A1=Sheet2!A1 to highlight cells in Sheet 1 that match the corresponding cell in Sheet2
=A1<>Sheet2!A1 to highlight cells that don't match
