Hi all, Can anybody help me how to add back ground for only few selected cells in a excel sheets..?hope you got the point..however we can add background for entire sheet,but i want only for particular cells..?

If your referring to colored background or shading cells then do the following:
Highlight or select the cells in question, goto Format>Conditional Formatting>Formula Is
add the following in the box: =MOD(ROW(),2)=1
and then choose the type of format you desire. Hope this helps.

Please define what you mean by "background".
It is as simple as cell shading or the more complex Format...Sheet...Background?

I was wondering if you were just trying to alternate shading on select cells. The commands I listed will provide the alternate shading on cells. Are you referring to an image background such as a watermark?
