Specs: Windows 64
Please help!.....is it possible to create a formula which automatically puts the number in column B which corresponds to the values in column A??

For example; if i entered 1.1, which is between 1 but less than 2 it would say 4 (see column B). Or if I put 3 it would put the number 7 (see column B)

Column A Column B
1 > 2 4
2 > 3 6
3 > 4 7
4 > 5 8
5 > 6 10
6 > 7 11
7 > 8 13
8 > 9 14
9 > 10 16
10+ 12

First, a posting tip:

Please click on the blue line at the end of this post and read the instructions on how to format example data so that it is easier for us to read. Don't forget to use Column letters and Row numbers as shown in the example. Thanks!

I think VLOOKUP should work for you.

Start with this table in C1:D10:

         C D
1 1 4
2 2 6
3 3 7
4 4 8
5 5	10
6 6	11
7 7	13
8 8	14
9 9	16
10 10	12

Now enter this in B1 and try some values in A1

=VLOOKUP(A1,$C$1:$D$10,2,1)

The key to this formula is the range_lookup argument of "1" (TRUE) when means that VLOOKUP will look for an approximate match in Column C.
