How can I store and index Outlook email?

Microsoft Outlook 2007

Specs: Windows XP
I use Outlook 2007 at work and need a way to store email. The company network settings automatically delete messages after 2 weeks and I'm constantly frustrated trying to find communication trails. Is there a way to copy emails to another file or program so they can be indexed, searchable and retrieved? I use Xobni and X1 to index and search and love those tools. Thanks.

Create another pst file and move your emails into that file. Better yet, assuming you're using Exchange, have your Supervisor talk to IT and explain why it's necessary for you to retain email.

I've tried explaining why it's important to keep email for even a couple of more weeks but the network administrator won't budge. Can't even set up additional pst's. Is there anyway to copy email to another program to store them and index them?

I can set up a pst and it will display in my Personal Folders but when I try to copy or move email to the new pst, I get an error message saying I can't move the item because don't have the right permission. That's what I mean when I say I can't setup new pst's. It seems like there has to be a way to work through this...

Lookeen looks great. I'll give it a try. Is there a way to easily store e-mails someplace besides a pst? Since I can't copy e-mails to any pst, the emails get deleted automatically after only 2 weeks.

Drag the messages to a folder.
