Create your template and when you save it use the drop down box, in the Save as dialog box, named "Save as type" = Document Template. Name it something you will recognize it as.

When choosing Template Document it will automatically switch to the Template folder for the destination folder.

Or while in MS Word go to File, New. In the dialog box that appears you should see near the bottom on the right "Create New" and Document is selected by default but you can change it to Template.

Each time you go to File, New and select your created template it will not overwrite it unless you save it with the same name intentionally including the .dot extension.

All ofthe above is true fro Office 97. I hope it is the same for Office 2003.

HTH
Bryan

Thx Bryan.

I knew how to create template however, when i insert a image into the body, saved then close. When i reopen again, it doesn't let me type on the top of that image.

In Office XP, it's Format, Background, Printed Watermark. Then just select the graphic you want to use as the background.

Creating a watermark will allow you to add text over top of it. That's the whole point. As for changing the position, you have the option (at least in Office XP) of changing the size of the background, but not the position. I think the only way to do that would be to use a photo editor and put the photo where you want it, and then add black space.

Another thing you could do is insert an object into a header, rather than making a background. Then, you'd be able to move it to back, and type text over it, AND position it where you wish.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks alot. It help alot. However, how could you deal with the insert object and bring it back or forward? I can't see any of that option !!! and also, everytime i insert object in header. It doesn't display the picture, just a file name.

Could you please give me a bit in details please.

Thanks alot.
