Getting the desired value from a sheet

Specs: Windows XP
i wish to ask :
I have two sheets : Investment.xls and Ratings.xls
in the investment sheet , i have two columns : The name of Bond i have invested in and in the second column the value of investment
The Ratings sheet has the name of the bond and the ratings such as BBB in second column
I wish to write a macro where my program picks a name from rating sheet and matches it to the name in the investment sheet. if if finds that any name matches it picks the corresponding rating from the rating sheet and after inserting a column titled rating against the name of the bond pastes the rating into that column . At the end of the code
There are three columns in the investment sheet. bond name, rating , market value of investment.

I don't think you need a macro.

As long as the bond names match exactly, you can use VLOOKUP.

Read the Excel Help file on VLOOKUP. If you have any questions, come on back and we'll see what other help we can offer.
