font size reduced while composing

CPU/Ram: 1GB

I am having a problem with MS outlook 2003. While composing new mail or replying to the mail, the font size is automatically getting minimized. due to this, i am unable to write the mail properly,since the font size becomes reduced from 10 to 8. But it is showing the normal font size after sent that mail to recipients. I tried Tools->Options->mail format.. but it doesn't help me..
