fixed cell in calculations

Specs: Windows 7
how do i isolate one cell in formula so it doesn't change
for example

G2 - F3 = G3
G2 - F4 = G4
G2 - F5 = G5
G2 - F6 = G6

back in the day of lotus 1-2-3
i use to put $G$2 so that one cell stays constant while the other cells will go from one cell to the next as it moves down but G2 cell in the formula stays isolated.

not sure if you can do that in office excel or not?

$G$2 will indeed "lock" G2 into a formula as you drag it around:

=$G$2 - F3
