I just posted this in the 9x forum but realized that it probably find a better home here:

Hi,
I am using Outlook Express on an older machine running win98se. I just bought a new one, WinXP pro with office2003 and business contact manager. How can I export my messages (there are nearly 1500 of them, yes i know i should have upgraded to Outlook a long time ago...) so that i can import them into my new computer with the Outlook 2003? I tried exporting them, i think it worked but i dont know where it saved the exported file, and i cant search for it because i dont know what OE called it.
Any help greatly appriciated...
Ed

It should export from OE as a pst file...

Do a search for *.pst and I think you will find it...

PST is the normal file for Outlook...

Your pst file contains your Contacts, Calendar, Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, etc. I recommend storing that pst file on a separate partition rather than on your primary just in case something happens to your OS. It's very simple to move. Just locate the pst file - probably under your Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

When you then try to open Outlook, you'll get an error saying it can't find your pst file. Just browse to the location where you moved it, and Outlook will function just the same...

Post Back and let me know how this works for you..
