I need to transfer all my Outlook stuff from Outlook 2003 on one computer to Outlook 2000 on another.
I use Outlook for emails (I have about 100 folders), and contacts. I'm not so worried about notes or appointments.
Are there any backwards-compatibility issues I should consider?
Also, can anyone advise if there are any tricks to doing this? At this stage I assume I just export the PST file from 2003 and import the same one into 2000.

Your assumption is incorrect. You can't import a 2003 pst file into earlier versions. This question has been asked several tiimes on this board.
You need to download pfbackup.exe from Microsoft. Install it on your machine that has Office 2003. Run the backup, making the backup compatible with earlier versions of Outlook (It will give you that option.)
Install the program on the machine running Office 2000. Then, open Outlook, select File, Backup, Open backup, and you can then open your 2003 backup pst in Outlook 2000.

Thanks Jennifer for your helpful advice.
Unfortunately the outlook backup addin on my computer is corrupted, but I found another workaround that may help others in a similar situation:
In Outlook 2003, go file > new > PST file and choose to make it compatible with Office 97-2002.
Then Export the original PST file to your desktop.
Then import this file into the 97-2002 PST file.
THEN you can export hte 97-2002 PST file to the other computer, and import it there into Outlook 2000.
Maybe there are some unnecessary steps here, but it worked for me!
Regards,
Jet
