Does anyone know how to prevent others from viewing each other's "Inbox"? At this time any employee can open any other employees inbox by going to File | Open | Other User's Folder in Outlook. There has be a way to prevent this. Please offer any advice that you can.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi sean!

If you have intranet then I assume that the Inbox of all persons is available on a mail server. In that case you can use the following procedure. So whenevr a person logs in to the pc he will be able to open his own Inbox only.

1)Right click on the Inbox icon on desktop.
2)Select Properties
3)Select 'Microsoft Exchange Server'
4)Select Properties
5)Un-check the box of 'Choose the connection type when starting'
6)Select Advanced from top menu
7)Un-check the box of 'Use network security during logon'

8)Click on 'ÓK' button to exit properties of 'Microsoft Exchange Server'

9)Click on "OK' button to save and exit from configuration.

Next time when you click on Inbox or Outlook, it will ask you for your User ID, Domain and Password.

If you are refering to a personal inbox which is normally stored in .PST files. You can ask every person to give password to his .PST file. In this case if a person tries to open a .PST file of others it will ask a password.

bye
nkor
