I know you can change the format for each individual cell of comments, but I am not sure you can just in general set a default for random cells. When you add a comment to a cell, just right click and you can choose the format you want, including font, and background color. I will look into this further to see about default formating.

Yes you can (see http://www.contextures.com/xlcomments02.html) change the default font for comments in Excel, but you have to do it through the Windows Environment because it is programmed as a Quick Tip that is used all over in windows. This doesn't solve my problem, which is having a larger font for the comments on a Shared Workbook. Every time I share the workbook or save it, they go back to the default and changing the default will only effect my machine. ARGHHHH!!!!!!
