Comment:

What syntax would I use to obtain a view of a date field where it would show the text day of the week and then the day of the month?

For example, today is Thursday, February 21, 2008. I want the field to show: Thu 21

What syntax will result in Thu 21?

Many thanks,
Brian

To get Thu 21 use:

=TEXT(A1,"ddd") & " " & DAY(A1)

To get Thursday 21 use:

=TEXT(A1,"dddd") & " " & DAY(A1)

Just thought I'd add if you don't want pure text, but rather want to apply formatting to the cell itself (while keeping the date)

dddd dd
ddd dd

is the syntax you need
