Is it possible to copy the name of a worksheet tab to a cell or to copy the cell contents to a worksheet tab??

Cheers

Yes, using the keyboard.

From the cell to sheet tab just right click and select copy on the cell.

Right click the Sheet tab and select Rename and then hit Ctrl+V to paste it.

To go from the sheet: Right click on the sheet tab and select rename. Hit Ctrl+C to copy it. Hit enter to retain the name and get out of that operation.

Right click int the target cell and select Paste.

HTH and is what you had in mind.

If it was not what you had in mind then the free ASAP Utilites Addin has that as a function.
In the left hand column of the webpage go to Screenshots and then click on the "Sheets".
The items you seek are listed 4th and 5th.

Thanks Bryan,

What you're suggesting works but I want to achieve the same result within a cell macro i.e. I want the tab name to update automatically as the cell value is changed. This is on a our company cost estimating sheet and will be used by at least three other users.

Cheers

Pete, That is all I can offer personally but you may want to try posting at OzGrid forum as there are some very knowledgable and helpful folks there on the subject of VBA and Macros.

Thanks for your help Bryan - it's much appreciated. Sorry I took so long in getting back to you before but I was on holiday (must have picked the wettest and windiest week in the UK this year!!).

Cheers
