Hello there folks, I am having a simple problem in Excel.

Upon opening any new or existing workbook, each time I click on a cell I am unable to "de-select" that cell. In other words, Excel seems to think I am holding down the left mouse key on that cell, and everywhere I move the cursor I am scrolling around selecting cells.

This does not seem to be a scroll lock issue, at least not that I am aware of. I have double clicked every where possible.

Please help me with this very frustrating problem.

Chris

When that happens just click your mouse wheel to free it, else hit the Escape key.

I'm using a laptop, so no mouse wheel. Escape key didn't work, but I hooked up a mouse and everything is cool now.
