Hi,
I have a spreadsheet that consists of 2 rows of account mangers (primary/secondary), other info like phone, address etc. and then the name of the account.
what I wanted to do was be able to create extra sheets that break out the info by account managers, both primary and secondary.
So what I did was first sorted the 'master sheet' by primary account manager and then on the next sheet used "=cellvalue" to link to the master. However, then i realised that if I resorted the master sheet (so I could then easily link to the secondary account managers) I screwed up the values of the primary account mangers linkages. Disaster!
So my question is this: How do I link to a cell on my master sheet, then resort by a different column but not lose the value of the cells i've already linked. I think that I have to use the OFFSET formula. Is this correct, if so, how do I do it? I've tried and failed.
thanks

Have a pivot table, on a left hand sheet, based on ur main one. It's all simple and will allow u to do all u want....

Good idea, tried it, but I want to be able to append the master sheet and have the changes show up on the other sheets, or in the pivot table. Is that possible?
What?

Each time u actualize ur pivot table, as u want it. U can also use, the "getpivotdata" function to get it on a fixed presentation.
