Excel: Multiple items in one cell

February 28, 2009 at 20:00:05
Specs: Windows Vista
I have the following as an example:
a1: 3.1.2
a2: 3.1.3
a3: 3.1.4
a4: 3.1.5

I'd like to manually put in cell b1: 3.1.2, 3.1.4

I figured it would be as simple as: =(a1,:a3) ...... but not that simple.

Your were close:

You need to use the & operator

b1 = (a1&", "&a2&", "a3)

or the CONCATENATE function

b1 =CONCATENATE(a1,a2,a3)

With the & operator you can add commas and space.

re: With the & operator you can add commas and space.

You can also add commas and spaces with the CONCATENATE function:

=CONCATENATE(A1,", ",A2,", ",A3)
