Hi, I'm using Excel 2002 and I need some help. I have 30 text files (one for each day of the month) that I need to import into separate workbooks, and then have a report page that summarizes them. I can do this manually. Problem is, I need to be able to use a selectable date range to import. I have a macro that imports the data using a data refresh, but it doesn't work too well and makes the user select each of the import files separately. I would like to somehow select a starting and ending day, then have it import all of the data for the range. Hope this makes sense, if someone can give me a recommendation or a direction to head in, I'll be able to figure it out I think...

Thanks!!
Ryan

Have you considered using Access for this?

maybe u can , in ur macro, ask user to enter a number of days, ie "import from : enter date, how many days. So in ur macro u have a calculation and so have a round in the concerned part of the macro for auto select of the date to import (import file name "date.txt", macro calculates (date.txt)+1, import, and so on till the count is reached, i mean the number of days the user put). Does it make sense...?

Yeah, we're looking into Access but I don't know it very well at all. I think that may be the way we have to go. Taxi, I'll see if I can make that work. The problem is that the filenames are all the same, but they're in directories named after the date. I'll see...

Thanks for the input guys.
