What is the formula for an IF statement to hilight any value or text, if that value appears more than one time in any given column? Using conditional format in excel

Have you searched the Excel help files for Conditional Formatting and looked at:

"Locate duplicates by using conditional formatting."

It's there in Excel 2003...can't speak to other versions.
