Excel IF formula leaving cell blank

First of thanks for any and all help.

I have two sheets, I wrote a simply IF formual to paste names from sheet 2 to sheet 1 if there was an "x" in Column E of sheet 2, which is fine. However if there is not an "x" it leaves the cell blank. What I would like is for it not to leave the cell blank and to paste the next name that has got an "x" in Column E. I hope this makes sense. Not sure if it helps but I do not know anything about VBA and taught myself simply formulas.
=IF(Sheet2!E2="x",Sheet2!C2, "")

what are you using this equation for, if organizing infomation, i recomend marking the data in sheet 2 with some kind of marker, then move the two of them, the name and the marker, to sheet 1

=IF(Sheet2!E2="x",Sheet2!C2, "")

=IF(Sheet2!E2="x",Sheet2!B2, "")

this will move both the sets of data to sheet 1
highlight the two rows and then select the botton on the top of the window that is an A on top of a Z with an arrow pointing down. this organizes the infomation, moving the blanks to the end and the cells with infomation to the top.

hope that helps
