I am working with an excel spreadsheet that has dollar values for different companies. i want to get a % difference for each company on multiple line items B7:B28. I found a formula the works for a single cell but i do not know how to make that formula work for the entire column and multiple columns beyond that.... any help? The formula that works is K7/C7-1. This gives me the correct value but only for that specific set of two numbers.

Are you asking how to find the % difference for each set of values in each row?

If so, just hold your cursor over the black box in the lower right corner of the cell that has your formula. Once it turns into a plus sign, click, hold and drag down the column. It will autofill the column, changing the row used in the formula as it goes.

BTW, the correct formula to find the % difference between 2 values is:

=(B2-A2)/ABS(A2)
