excel formula to leave out remainders

Specs: Windows XP
Hello,

I am trying to create a formula for one cell that would give me a case count, and leave out any count left over. For another cell, I am also trying to create a formula that would pull the count that was left over. Is this even possible?

The actual case count is 10. I calculate per day the number of devices shipped and divide it by 10 (case count). The remainder needs to be separated and billing as a Per Device Charge (or single charge.

35 devices shipped / 10

30 Cases & 5 Single

Please help. I have been working with this for weeks using SUMIFS and COUNTIFS, but I still cannot get it.

re: "

How does 35 devices/10 = 30 cases? Should that be "350 devices shipped" or should it be "3 cases"?

In any case, with 35 in A1, these formulas should work for you:

=INT(A1/10) ---> 3
or
=ROUNDDOWN(A1/10,0) ---> 3

=(A1/10-INT(A1/10))*10 ---> 5

Cases is INT(devices/devices-per-case)
The remainder is MOD()
