Hi,
Using Windows 98SE, with Office 2000 and trying to open an Excel workbook with a macro.....and cannot for the life of me determine which dll('s) are causing the error "Error in Loading DLL."
So, performed the following steps, with no luck.
1. Completely uninstalled Office 2000.
2. Used Office 2000 eraser utility from Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;239938) to completely clean up remaining files and registry entries.
3. Re-installed Office 2000 - still received error. Then I considered that the DLL('s) in question could be related to my anti-virus software, so I:
1. Uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus 2001.
2. Purchased and installed Norton Anti-Virus 2004.Still no luck. I don't know what else to do? I know that the macro in question is very simple, with 3 modules - 2 for filtering and one for reconciling some amounts. However, even if I disable macros it still gives me the same error and I can't look at the VB code closer.
Does anyone know what I can do from here....please??? Is it something with my Registry entries? I'm sure that there are probably over 1000 invalid registry entries, so should I try and clean this up and will that solve the problem?

I had the same problem with access and even in media player after a recent critical windows update. Try following this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;306132&Product=acc2002
and reinstall MDAC. I copied it to a zip (or floppy) and ran it from there. Worked for me.

I had similar problem with Access application.
Thanks for information. I tried re-installing MDAC from work station, opposed to MS site. This did not work. I then tried manually registering all *.dll files in c:\program files\common files\system\ado. This worked fine for me.
I'm sure if I tried installing MDAC from MS site, it would of worked. Thanks for help.
