Excel Drop down menu

Specs: Windows XP
How do I produce a range of answers in a cell where the answer changes depending on a value which has been chosen from a drop down menu. I am also working with text not numerical values. Any help would be very much appreciated

You can use an IF statement in the cell. The IF statement should refer back to the cell with the drop down.

Will an IF function allow me to have multiple answers in one cell, with the choice from the drop down menu devising which answer is shown?

A Nested IF will allow for up to 8 choices (7 nests):


There are other methods if you need more, including ways to populate a second drop down based on the item chosen by the first drop down.
