Running Excel 2000 it has suddenly started loading in a coupe of sheets of rubbish when it opens up. I have tried deleting the default sheet but it still does it. I have also tried to reinstall.

Using Win98 and Office 97 but have a look in the Startup folder for office to see if there is a file there that is the one that is opening.

On mine it is located at:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\STARTUP

In my Startup folder I have two Word files but I want them there. For Excel there are none.

I neglected to mention; go to Tools, Addins and remove checks from the associated, undesirable one.

You should check if you saved any files into the alternate startup directory for excel. go to >tools>options>general and check if you entered an alternate startup folder

Good luck
