When i try to format a date it appears as a line of hash keys, when the cursor is floated over the cell a pop up box tells me negative dates or times are displayed as #########.
Can anybody help?

Hi there,

Excel doens't support negative dates, meaning when you substract today's date from yesterday's date , it will give an error.
don't have a clue what you are making, so if i had some more info i could help more. There
are ways around this problem.

With regards

Mike

You can subtract todays date from yesterdays date without error. It will produce a negative number, after all dates are just numbers like any other - unless you have entered the date as a string which is bad practice.

The ####### indicate the column width is to norrow for the data being displayed. Widen the columm to see what the data is.

I have a .CSV file with a column of dates in the US format - mm/dd/yyyy. How do I convert this to Canadian format of dd/mm/yyy?
