Hi, would anyone be able to shed some light on this issue I am having. I've goggle and tried all they suggested but still I'm having the same problem.
Problem: When attaching an excel spreadsheet to a new email in outlook, it attaches fine but if I go double to open it, I get this error: The system cannot find the file specified. People who receives the email does not get an attachment. I'm able to open the attachment if I do not go through Outlook. Word opens fine.
Things I've tried:
1. uncheck "ignored other applications in excel". Rebooted system and ran the test but it didn't work. Then,
2. Uninstalled office 2000 and reinstalled with the lastest service pack. This seem to work briefly but then same thing happen after several test.
I have windows 2003 project installed on this machine. Would this be the cause? My only other option is to do a fresh XP installation.
Please help...

Project won't cause this, and don't re-install XP yet! there are options..
Have you tested other excel documents??
Is is ONLY excel documents?? If it is, have you tried a repair or re-install of office...??
I suspect if you have re-installed this item, that something else is causing this... you could also try creating a new profile in XP and testing from there... you'd be surprised what a corrupt profile can do!
