Excel attachment not opening

When I try to open an Excel attachment in Outlook, it opens the Excel program but doesn't open the spreadsheet. Any ideas?

Try this. Launch Excel and go to Tools, Options. Click on the General tab and look for an option called Ignore Other Applications. If there is a checkmark next to it, remove it. Close Excel and then try to open the attachment.
