Specs: Windows Vista
Needing help with a basic formula to change the cell color if the "answer" is negative or positive.

Basic statement sheet that calculates income vs expenses and reports those results to a cell. I would like the cell that I have marked as "net pay" to either turn red or green depending on the results of row that calculates income and the other that calculates expenses.

Look up Conditional Formatting in Excel help or via Google.

CF will do just what you want by using a formula (or "rule") to determine the value of the cell and format it anyway you want based on the result of that rule or rules.

In Excel 2007 you could even have gradients based on the value and lots of other fancy Conditional Formatting.
