HEY! I have excel 97 - I am having issues with sharing files/workbooks. Other's in the office have Excel 2003 and don't run into this issue - the upgrade to 2003 doesn't fix it either. After opening a shared file, it will open, but it will freeze on some of the panes, will prevent me from using the scroll feature and other misc hardware conflict issues. Is there anyone that has heard of this problem with sharing files on a network with other users that use excel 2003? Please - let me know!

"Other's in the office have Excel 2003 and don't run into this issue. The upgrade to 2003 doesn't fix it either" seems like a contradiction.
If you're using 97 and trying to open items that were created/edited/saved in 2003 then that is probably the reason right there. There is a huge difference between the two versions.
Why not just go to all 2003?
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
