Excel 97 formula problem

Comment:
I want to insert a formule into a cell in a worksheet which simple displays the value contained in a cell in another sheet in the same workbook. The formula is: =DataEntry!E16 So the cell should display the value of cell E16 in the DataEntry worksheet in the same workbook. Instead it will only display the formula, not the result! I have checked to make sure that the "display formulae" option is not ticked in Tools/Option/View. Also, the same formula in a different cell works correctly. Help!

You should be able to click on your destination cell and place an equal (=) sign in it; swap to the DataEntry sheet and click in E16, hit the Enter key and it should return it's value to your destination cell.

Tried that Bryan, no luck. However I did check how the cell was formatted and changed it to "General", that seems to have done the trick!
