excel 2007 compile error distMon

Specs: Windows XP, 3.40 Ghz/2048MB RAM
When opening and closing Excel 2007, I get the same error: "compile error in hidden module: distmon". I tried following Microsoft's advice:

Method 1: Download the latest version of the add-in for Adobe Acrobat 5.0...but I have Acrobat 9.0 and I downloaded an update for that and it still gave me the error.

Method 2: Move the files (pdfmaker.dot and pdfmaker.xla)....but I don't have either of these files on my system.

It also says it could have to do with Norton Antivirus but I don't have that either.

Anyone have any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

Did you remember to enable the search tool to show hidden and system files?

When you select Search
check the box titled Advance Options,
then check the box's for
Search hidden files and folders
Search system folders
Search subfolders

No I didn't remember to do that, thanks for pointing that out. I re-ran the search and got back no results for pdfmaker.dot but I did get back results for pdfmaker.xla...there were a couple of those in mydocuments, 4 html looking files in my computer and one in what looks like my documents too. I tried moving the my computer ones but it said it cannot copy the files. I didn't figure there was any sense in trying to move the my document ones since that is where the directions tells me to move them to.

It didn't at first, because the files were already in My Documents, however today I am not getting the error message, so I don't know if I had an automatic update that fixed it or what. Thanks for your help, problem solved. :)
