I can not formulate it correctly.
Why do you want to do it? Is it because you want to be able to calculate the differences between dates or give it a numeric value?

If so then format the cells as numbers.
12/11/2001 converts to 37236.

Go to Format Cells and choose Custom. Find the entry that shows m/d/yyyy and select that. Use the arrow keys to remove the slash marks so that you have mdyyyy, and you are done. No guarantees about what will happen if you calculate from it.

You can get there going the long way around. Date to Numbers to String but not necessarily back to a number (depends if you need a leading zero).

Just some clarification - I have about 1500 dates in Excel with the format 12/11/2001. I am inporting them into a database that has to have the import format as 12112001. (without the slashes) It is difficult to change them individually. Thanks

What format is the database field you're importing to? I'm not aware of any pre-configured input masks for dates that do not contain the slashes.

Perhaps a little more information would help.

If you're changing the Excel cells, you don't have to do them individually. Change the format of the entire column if they're all in the same column.

Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
