excel 2003 make cell static after calc

Specs: Windows 7
Excel 2003: I have a cell that has our inventory in a master data worksheet. I have another worksheet with look up functions to use as a pull sheet from the warehouse, so when the amount ordered is entered, the new inventory qty is updatedn the master sheet. If I leave the file, come back in to do a new pull sheet, the quantity is no longer updated, but reverts back to the original inventory, and the quantities from other pull sheets are lost. I can do a lookup to copy the ordered qty to the master worsheet, but when I reenter a qty on the pull sheet, the inventory does not save the amount already pulled or deducted so i am back to tsquare one. What I need ot do is keep the quantity static for each store pull so the inventory is consistently updated. I hope this makes sense! Thanks!

The proper way to do what you want is a multi-user inventory control and sales order entry program.

I suggest that you Google those exact words to see what you can find.

Since the correct solution for your business will depend on a number of variables (how many users, size of database, features required, etc.) it would be really hard for anyone in a help forum such as this to suggest the correct application for you.

BTW I would consider suggesting something to help you with your original question about the spreadsheet, but I don't really understand what the problem is. If you are saving the file with the updated quantities, I don't see how they could revert to the old numbers.
