Excel 2003 Link To Powerpoint

I am working on a spreadsheet that I am trying to link to Powerpoint.

All the data I have was copy and pasted form a different spreadsheet. The X axis has all of the different countries with the Y axis have 5 different categories of revenue.

To get the informaiton into powerpoint I had to first create a vlookup that would give me the correct name I want to appear on the powerpoint. On the Y axis I have done the same with the different sources of revenue.

I then need to create a forumal that takes the data taking into consideration the X axis and the Y. Is that possible

I would think of it like a double vlookup?

I think it would be helpful if you described what you are trying to get into PowerPoint (PP) -
Is it one chart or several charts?

Are you just linking a chart into PP or are you linking a chart and some other cells to act as labels on the PP slide.

As to VLOOKUP() - what are you trying to do with this function.
Are you wanting to use this as a way to change the data or titles on the chart.

Please try and give all the information - remember that we can't see anything that you have - so you have to provide a lot more information so that we can have a reasonable chance of giving a useful response.

Its not that great to provide a solution and then be told 'Oh I forgot to mention that .....X=Y .....' or whatever, which changes the whole problem, and requires a different solution!!!!

You are right. I will try to be more specific with my question.

I am attempting to get this data I have showing the revenue source of different offices. The offices going down the rows and the different sources going across so it looks something like this:

In powerpoint I use a program called thinkcell which is basically a weaker version of excel. It does not allow me to link direct into excel with a similar formula driven from different sheets. Another problem is that I can not link cells that are not in the same range. For example I can not link A1:A7 and then C1:7 if I was trying to get the totals of different regions or something like that. Because of that I need to put everything in the same range in excel.

I have to update this every month and to date I simply do it manually. It is not terrible but it leave room for errors and it annoying when I know there are faster ways of doing this.

The data comes from a report that I run which I then copy into excel. That data has the office names and revenue sources in a format that I can not use on the chart. I used a vlookup to give me the right way I want the office to be name but have not done so for the revenue sources. I am considering doing the same for that but was wondering if there would be another way.

After I do that I need to find a way that take the revenue in ny from GIF from the data ect ect

Is this possible?

I am only in year 1 of excel and am completely overwhelmed with VBA but I am trying to learn the best I can. If you have any tips or good places to start learning feel free to let me know.
