Excel 2003 - Highlight current cell

How can you set Excel 2003 to highlight whichever cell is currently chosen?
The way it is set now, I have a white highlight around the current cell, but I use spreadsheets with LOTS of text, so often it is hard to see where I am on the page. The Column and Row of the chosen cell are highlighted orange, but the actual box around the cell is just white. How can I choose a color for that highlight?
I have found a program called RowLiner, but it crashes Excel whenever I try to add it in. I think it's only compatible for previous versions.

Check under the Tools menu/Options/View tab that the Color dropdown is set to Automatic. The cell selection box should be black, not white. If that is not the problem, check your display settings for Windows.
