excel 2002 - showing formula

Specs: Windows XP
i see the excel formula not the answer
I'm combining two cells of numbers(changed to text)into a 3rd cell
my formula
A1&, " ", &B2 or
CONCATENATE(A2," ",B2)and all I see is the formula can someone help

I am assuming that your formulas are =A1&, " ", &B2 and that you just didn't include the = in your post.

The likely problem is that Excel has these cells formatted as Text and when you enter the formulas Excel treats them as a text string and not a formula.

Clear the cells.
Select the cells and format them as numbers.
Enter a number in each cell.
Clear the cells again
Enter your formulas again.

This should result in the formulas being correctly recognized.

Try using
=A1&" "&B1

This will put A1 and B1 in the same cell with a space in between.

Thank you both, I had them as text but must have had a glitch. I didn't realize the subject line; I will try in the future to be more specific.
