Solved excel 2002 can't break link

Specs: Windows XP
1) Link is to an external data base
2) Edit/Link/Break Link option not available ("grayed out")
3) Insert/Names option is empty (all choices "grayed out")
4) Edit/Link/Update values not available ('grayed out")
5) Edith/Link/Change Source not available ("grayed out")

It's not shared.
The majority of the cells are protected. The only unprotected cells are the ones the links were put it. I did add the orginal link, but at a later date changed to a different data source. Unfortunately, I did not use the "EDIT/LINK/CHANGE SOURCE" option (sorry, I'm new at this). I simply did a COPY/PASTE SPECIAL/PASTE LINK in these cells thinking it would overwrite the original link.

By the way ... the new link is there as well. It is working fine, as far as updating the sheet by the new source, but I can't delete or change it either.

Sorry, DerbyDad03, apparently I did not respond properly to your post. Since your post is the ONLY post I have received, I guess I have to rate it the "best" answer. If you didn't get my earlier reply to your questions, I apologize, and I sincerely thank you for taking the time to inquire into my situation. I'll still check the thread from time to time to see if anyone has an answer.
