I have a very strange problem with my computer, some time ago I started with a problem when trying to use the "/" symbol in excel 2000, quattro pro 7 and works 4.0, all those programs work O.K. but whenever I write this symbol in any formulae the programs give an error message and I cannot sort it out. I have tried using wizards to create formulae but it makes no sense.
Thanks in advance

If you shoot me an e-mail I can send you a spreadsheet showing you how to make this work. It's too much to list here.

Diego,
What is the error message you get? If it is something to the effect of "you can not use that type of character..." then post your formula and someone here can sort it out for you. The syntax needs to be correct so it reads it properly.

Also, are you sure you are using the / (forward backslash or divide by) symbol versus the \ (backslash) symbol?

Bryan

The error message I get says that there is a mistake in the formulae but nothing in particular, it happens in very simple formulae like =8/2, even in MS Works I have tried using a wizarzd to make fromulae, and when I type the numbers and hit enter so that the program adds the "/" symbol it crashes. I hope this answers your questions. And by the way, concerning bad_brains spread sheet, I don't know if it is the one he wanted to send or if I don't know how to use it properly.
