Comment: After a power outage, Excel 2000 does not start. It displays the splash screen and then crashes with the send error report dialog box. Some notes:
-It DOES start if I run it in safe mode from the command line. -It does NOT start if I run it normally with Windows in safe mode. -It does NOT start if I rename or move the xlb or pip files. -I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled it in a different directory, before and after a system restore. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Reply: I have found that you may have to remove all references to Excel in the Registry and THEN reinstall. There is an Office Scrubber utility on the net, but it would remove all references to Office, not just Excel. Coming home from very lonely places, all of us go a little mad: whether from great personal success, or just an all-night drive, we are the sole survivors of a world no one else has ever seen.
