Excel 2000 hang time

CPU/Ram: 2.0 GB Ram & Dual Process

We've been experiencing hang time on excel when we try opening a spreadsheet from the network. The spreadsheet can be any size it when this occurs and it can be anytime of the day. We are sure if it's a network issue we are dealing with or the application itself. Any suggestion?

Assuming you meant you "aren't" sure if it's a network issue, I'd copy the file to the local drive and open from there.

Thanks for the info Jennifer. That's pretty much what we have people doing but it's just a work-around. Any other suggestions?
