I Acrobat Professional 8 I have made a form with a Submit button. The form is placed so it can be downloaded from a website. When that's done, data is filled in clicking on the SEND button (= Sumit button) it should generate an e-mail, where the filled-in form is included as an attachment and with the predefined mailto address.
It works as intended from the PC with Acrobat Professional 8 installed.
But when the same is attempted from a PC with Acrobat reader 6+ the result is an Adobe errormessage saying "This operation is not permitted".
How can this be solved?
(Adobe documentation explains that it should be possible - and the pdf form has no security restrictions).

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried it on a computer running the latest version of Acrobat reader? Version 6 is rather old and may not be compatable with the code that Acrobat 8 is using.

Yes, I have tried it with the same result from a PC with Acrobat Reader 7.
Besides Adobes documentation states, that it should work at least from Reader 6.

The latest version of reader is 8. I realize the program said it was backwards compatable but I have found this isn't always true when it comes to PDFs.

After you "Save" the document, next do a "Reduce File Size" an select one of the compatabilities in there. I generally choose Adobe 5. I have created similar forms in Acrobat 7, and although someone using Adobe Reader 5 or 6 gets an error message similar to the one you posted, they should be able to Ok their way out of that message and open and use the form. I tried this numerous times a computer that had Adobe Reader 5. I haven't upgraded to 8 yet.
