I have 6 linked Excel tables in an Access database. Four of the tables are fine, but 2 of the tables have a problem with one of the columns. Data is entered into these tables daily. The columns are formatted as number in Excel - there are only numbers in this column (the field shows a property of text however in the Access database). The data that was in the table when it was originally linked is fine. Any new data entered into this column after that point shows up as #NUM. I have tried reformating as text, replacing the column (with a format of text and with a format of number), re-entering the data and relinking the tables but nothing seems to work. I am completely out of ideas at this point. Please help!

Did you check the MSKB?

Life's more painless for the brainless.

I did read this one. My issue with running a macro is that the linked tables come from a shared workbook. I could set the macro to run each time the workbook is opened, but it is generally opened at the beginning of the day and never closed. Updates occur all day.
I created a workaround by adding a column at the end of the data and used =TEXT(cell,"@")to convert the number to text. This is the field I use to populate the tables I need to work and query from. Not the prettiest solution I have ever done, but it seems to work and that is the important part.
Thanks for helping me look for a solution.
