email sent in outlook 2007 not arriving

Microsoft Outlook 2007
July 13, 2010 at 12:48:42
Specs: Windows XP Professional

Basically, i'm new to Outlook and the world of internal
email. Apologies in advance for asking what is
probably an old question.

I sent an email with quite a large attachment to
someone else in the office. They never received it,
yet it appears in my sent folder and I have had no
failure notifications.

Any ideas where this might have ended up and how it
might be accessed?

Al help appreciated, thanks in advance!

Are you using an Exchange Server? What is a "quite large attachment?"

My guess is the recipient probably got the email, but either didn't see it, deleted it, it went to junk, or there's a rule created that sends emails with certain criteria to a specific folder.

I would re-send it, selecting the options to receive both a Delivery Receipt and a Read Receipt.

Hello Jennifer, thankyou for your reply.

The attachment size was 18mb. When the person in charge
of the server checked it, they found that an attempt had
been made to send and failed, although I never received a
message to inform me of this... which seems odd. The
message remained in my sent folder.

Apparently, this can sometimes happen with large emails
when the sending computer is turned off shortly after the
action is performed...
