Duplicate & deleting Outlook emails

I read and delete my emails (permanently from the deleted mailbox) and then a while later selective emails are back - undeleted, unread and duplicated from 2 to 20 times - even emails from days before..please help it is driving me nuts. (I've done a virus check and found nothing).

Have you looked at your rules? Are you leaving mail on the server? Is this a POP account?

Could have a corrupt profile, but rules are definitely the first place that I would check
