Solved Drop down list creation not working

Specs: Windows 10
Hi - Is there a simple reason why I can't select my data group to create my list?

I have created my list on a separate tab.
I select the cells where I want to create the list.

Data validation, Allow: List
Source: Here I would normally be able to select the tab and highlight the list. All I am getting is that very annoying error noise when I try and click on the tab (or anywhere on the open sheet). No error message.

It will allow me to manually type the source, which I've done but I would like to understand what is causing the issue? Probably something buried in an advanced setting somewhere??

Windows 10
Excel 2007

If I am not mistaken the ability to actually select a different tab for a Data Validation list did not become possible until Excel 2010.

For 2007 you either have to type in the sheet name like you have done or name the range and then use the range name in the data validation dialog box.

Naming the range also works in 2003.
