Drag and fill series, multiple tabs

October 9, 2012 at 10:01:41
Specs: Windows 7
Using Excel, I want to drag and fill down a column. The cell is linked to another sheet in the workbook (such as ='TQA 1'!$B$15) There are 23 Tabs (TQA 1, TQA2...) cell B15 is the for each tab and I want to summarize the tabs on another sheet. When I drag and fill it only copys ='TQA 1'!$B$15 and I have to manual change it to ='TQA 2'!$B$15, ='TQA 3'!$B$15 etc.

If you are not familiar with the INDIRECT or ROW functions, look them up in the Excel help files or via a Google search.

If your first formula is to be placed in Row 1, enter this formula:

=INDIRECT("'TQA " & ROW() &"'!$B$15")

Note that the single qoutes are enclosed within the double quotes.

If your first formula is in a row other than Row 1, you'll need to adjust the ROW() function with an offset.
