double image or ghost image replicate my original document....

say the real word document saved as: "keep it clean"
and the double image shows: "~$eing it clean"

You're seeing this "image" within the Word Document itself? Can you post a screen shot?

I see what you're talking about. Your terminology was confusing. You're not seeing a double-image or ghost image of the document. That "File" not "Image" you're referring to is the temp file that is created when you have that Word Document open. That's normal and to be expected.

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks very much on your kind info & sorry for the wrong terminology as well. I thought that it could be some kind of virus attacks.

But wait, I am still seeing those temporary files, even though I have saved and closed the Word docs, and closed Word. I have even closed MyComputer folder, but when I open it up again and go into the folder holding my docs, I still see the temporary files. This has been going on for a couple of weeks, and there are often 2-3 temp files still showing. It is distracting me! Please help.

Thanks :-)
