Double clicking doc won't open Word

When I double click a .doc in Windows Explorer, it doesn't do anything. It should open the document in Word. I can open Word and File and Open, but it's way more convenient to double click. Plus, with an attachment in an e-mail, I have to save it before I can access it. We're running Word 2002 on a Win XP Pro machine. Thanks.

When you right-click the filename, what's the first option in the list?
